Prominent Karachi Figure Ahmed Shakur Laid to Rest; Political and Social Leaders Express Condolences


Karachi, Ahmed Shakur, the elder brother of Pasban Democratic Party Chairman Altaf Shakoor, was laid to rest in Mayo Shah Cemetery following his funeral prayer at Makkah Masjid Adamji Nagar, Dhuraji. The funeral was attended by a host of political and social leaders who came to pay their respects.



According to Pasban Democratic Party, the event was marked by the presence of notable figures such as Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Muhammad Hussain Al-Jadi, Banuria Jamia Mahmud Farhan Naeem, Jisarat editor Muzaffar Ejaz, and representatives from various political parties. Usman Moazzam, PDP Vice Chairman Abdul Hakeem Quaid, senior leader of Karachi Sardar Zulfikar, Kaleem, Allah Malik, Akram Agria, Athar Mahmood, Mahmud Tajik, Aafia Movement Media Cell in-charge Muhammad Ayub, Muhammad Hussain Hamdam, and Shahzeb were among the many who attended the ceremony.



The gathering of such a diverse group of attendees, including political leaders, activists, and media personnel, reflected the high regard in which Ahmed Shakur was held in the community. Attendees offered prayers for the deceased and extended their condolences and support to the bereaved family, emphasizing the sense of loss felt by the community.



Dr. Fawzia Siddiqui, a prominent figure in the Aafia Movement, also expressed her regret and condolences to Altaf Shakoor, indicating the wide impact of Ahmed Shakur’s passing.



Ahmed Shakur’s funeral brought together individuals from various spheres of Karachi’s political and social landscape, highlighting his and his family’s significant role in the city’s public life.
