Rawalpindi, The Punjab Arts Council in Rawalpindi held its second Board of Management meeting, chaired by President Sakib Rafik, focusing on the promotion of regional culture, arts, literature, and knowledge development. The meeting aimed at implementing decisions from the first meeting and setting the course for future cultural events and initiatives.
According to Punjab Arts Council, the meeting included discussions led by Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmed, who briefed President Rafik and the Board members on the Council’s objectives and the progress of previously decided initiatives. Rafik emphasized the universal importance of writers, singers, painters, and artists in promoting cultural values and knowledge. He stressed the Council’s commitment to elevating Rawalpindi’s culture, arts, and literature to a global audience.
The Board of Management meeting also resolved to organize a cultural and food festival in the first week of March, showcasing the rich heritage of the region. Additionally, the members visited the newly constructed Audio Video Studio at the Punjab Arts Council, where Ahmed announced the imminent commencement of audio-video production classes.
President Rafik encouraged all Board members to provide positive suggestions for the promotion of art and culture, reinforcing the Council’s dedication to nurturing and showcasing the diverse cultural landscape of Rawalpindi. The meeting underlines the Punjab Arts Council’s role in fostering cultural enrichment and elevating local arts on both national and international stages.
