University of Haripur Conducts Training on Emotional Management in the Workplace

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: The University of Haripur recently organized a training session on “Emotional Management at Workplace,” led by Professor Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of the University. This session, attended by the registrar, Mr. Muhammad Riaz, deans, chairpersons, heads of departments, and faculty members, focused on understanding and managing emotions in a professional setting.

According to The University of Haripur, the session was chaired by Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, Chairperson of the Department of Psychology. He facilitated discussions on handling emotions like anxiety, stress, and anger in the workplace, addressing various life challenges, and offering insights into health issues, future concerns, and social support. Dr. Rizwan also emphasized the importance of work-life balance, advising on setting boundaries between work and personal life, allocating time efficiently, and periodically reviewing and adjusting this balance.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shafiq ur Rahman highlighted the significance of emotional management for leaders in educational settings. He pointed out that leaders who manage their emotions effectively create a stable and supportive environment, which is crucial for the academic and emotional development of students. The Vice-Chancellor stressed that emotional regulation is fundamental for building strong, trusting relationships, essential in the learning and development process.

Prof. Rahman further stated that a leader’s ability to handle emotions not only benefits their well-being but also impacts students significantly. He underscored that leaders with high emotional intelligence foster a positive, supportive, and conducive learning atmosphere. The Vice-Chancellor encouraged active participation in such training sessions, reaffirming the university’s commitment to providing necessary resources for emotional development.

The session concluded with a stress-relieving activity led by Dr. Mohammad Rizwan, which left participants visibly satisfied and calm, demonstrating the practical application of the concepts discussed.
