Muzaffarabad, Muhammad Tahir Khokhar, former Parliamentary Leader and Minister of Tourism and Transport of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Azad Kashmir, has emphasized the need for realizing the vision of Quaid-e-Azam in Pakistan. He advocates for a society where equality prevails, people’s rights are respected, and justice is accessible to all. Khokhar highlighted the ongoing struggle of MQM in Azad Kashmir to secure basic rights for the state’s people, who currently face deprivation and encroachment by externally imposed officers.
According to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Khokhar, while speaking to the media, asserted that MQM is a patriotic party and has consistently supported the Pakistan Army, the country’s border protector. He stressed MQM’s commitment to eradicating the divide between rich and poor, dismantling the rule of feudal lords and landlords, and ensuring basic facilities and justice for the country’s citizens. Khokhar condemned extrajudicial killings and the lack of judicial process in such cases, raising concerns about the state of justice in the country.
He criticized the existing feudal and landlord system, advocating for an end to hereditary politics and the establishment of equal rights for all citizens. This stance, he noted, is not well received by the elite minority, who constitute about 2% of the population. Khokhar also called for the recovery of innocent missing MQM workers, emphasizing the party’s peaceful nature and its deep roots among the people. MQM’s vision, as articulated by Khokhar, is to create an equitable society that aligns with the principles laid out by Quaid-e-Azam, ensuring freedom and justice for all citizens of Pakistan.
