Karachi, The Peace Development Party has officially initiated its campaign for the 2024 elections, issuing tickets to 50 candidates in its first phase. Chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah, addressing a ceremony, emphasized the party’s commitment to addressing public issues and fostering youth leadership, aiming to end corruption and personal politics.
According to Peace Development Party, Muhammad Faiq Shah criticized the current leadership for failing to control prices of essential commodities and accused previous rulers of neglecting basic public needs while enriching themselves. He asserted that the party’s mission is to hold such politicians accountable and to differentiate itself from those he accused of perpetuating fraud and self-interest. Shah also congratulated the newly ticketed candidates and urged an acceleration in their collective struggle for change, condemning the personal politics of other parties as divisive and self-serving.
In related news, a young man was injured during a wedding ceremony in Darya Khan Murri village due to aerial firing. Identified as Shoaib Soomro, the youth was initially taken to Darya Khan Murri hospital and then transferred to Nawabshah Hospital due to his critical condition. The police are investigating the incident.
Furthermore, a robbery incident on the Akri Zafarabad link road led to the shooting of a young man, Tanveer Birdi, by armed robbers. Birdi, who was robbed of his motorcycle, cash, and mobile phone, is currently receiving medical treatment. The Akri police are conducting investigations into this incident.
In a separate operation, police arrested four drug dealers in Lakha Road, Kandiaro, and Moro. The suspects, Ghulam Shabir Mungrio, Abbas Khokhar, Mashuq Chandio, and Abdul Kareem Chandio, were apprehended with various quantities of liquor and harmful substances like Gutka and panprag. Additionally, Kandiyaru police arrested an individual named Mirchu Cleary on suspicion of advertising.
