Chitral, August 13, 2023 (PPI-OT): Directorate of Research, Innovation and Commercialization/GYM Club University of Chitral organized a training entitled “Kitchen Gardening” on 10th August, 2023. Dr. Sahib Khan (the Care Taking Vice Chancellor, University of Chitral) appraised the efforts of the GYM Club UOCH team in this regard. The training was headed by Dr. Muhammad Romman, Deputy Director ORIC/Focal Person GYM Club, University of Chitral. The resource person for the training was Dr. Muhammad Naseer, Senior Research Officer, Agriculture Research Station, Chitral Lower.

The aim of Kitchen Gardening was to produce organic vegetables free of any pesticides and chemicals for domestic use. Moreover, it helped to promote research and innovation among the students of University of Chitral. Dr. Ishfaq Hameed (Convener Oversight Committee (OC), Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club, University of Chitral), Dr. Syed Fahad Ali Shah (Member Oversight Committee (OC), Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club, University of Chitral), Dr. Saif ul Mujahid (Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, University of Chitral) and Dr. Abad ur Rahman (HoD, Department of Islamic Studies, University of Chitral) and Mr. Hafiz Ullah (Lecturer, Department of Botany, University of Chitral) graced the occasion. Members of the GYM Club were also present in the event.

The training was concluded with healthy Question/Answer session by students and faculty members. Certificates were distributed by Dr. Sahib Khan (the Care Taking Vice Chancellor, University of Chitral) and Dr. Muhammad Romman (Assistant Professor of Botany, University of Chitral) among the participants. Shield was also presented to the resource person.
