Islamabad, August 16, 2023 (PPI-OT):In a Gallup and Gilani Pakistan National Survey conducted in the year 2012, a representative sample of adult men and women from across Pakistan was asked the following question, “In all countries there are often differences or conflicts between different social classes. In your opinion, how much disagreement or conflict is there between Pakistanis and foreign residents in Pakistan?” In response to this question, 45% said a lot/some differences, 49% said very little/no differences, 4% said they could not share any opinion on it and 3% said they do not know or gave no response.
Comparative Picture: This question was asked again in 2023 to allow a comparison to be made across the years. In 2023, now 39% said a lot/some differences and 49% said very little/no differences, 8% said they could not share any opinion on it and 3% said they do not know or gave no response.
Trend Analysis: The proportion of people who are of the opinion that there are a lot/some differences between Pakistanis and foreigners residing in Pakistan have decreased by 6% in the past 11 years from 2012 to 2023, while those that believe there are very little/no differences remain unchanged.
