Announcement: Last Chance to Apply for Zero Semester Admission – Fall 2021 

Lahore, December 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Virtual University of Pakistan has decided to provide an opportunity to the admitted students based on hope certificate and obtained less than 45 % marks or any potential candidate (having less than 45% marks in Intermediate).

Now, the willing candidates may apply for Zero Semesters admission by filling and submitting a new admission Form through the admission link/interface.

The last date to apply and deposit the fee is December 5, 2021.

Note:

Classes for the Fall 2021 semester already commenced with effect from Monday, November 15, 2021, and candidate(s) is responsible to cover the already delivered courses.

This provision cannot be quoted as a precedent in the future.

Islamabad, December 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, public opinion split on the issue of whether men forget important dates; slightly more women (53%) than men (49%) think that men forget important dates.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “Do you think men do not remember important dates?” In response to this question, 50% said yes while 45% said no. 5% did not know or provided no response.

VIS Directorate Arranged Get Together with Partner Organizations

Islamabad, December 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):Delegation of different NGO’s, INGO’s, Hospital and Government School visited CUST on November 25, 2021 on the invitation of VIS Directorate. More than 15 organizations have participated in this event where the “Co-Founder of Family First an NGO from Mumbai, India” also participated.

They all were warmly welcomed by team of CUST, comprises on Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mansoor Ahmed, Worthy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Muhammad Sagheer, Director Students Affairs/HoD Mathematics, Mr. Naeemullah Khan Deputy Director VIS-CUST, Mr. Naeem Saud, Manager VIS-CUST, Mr. Nauman Shaukat Assistant Registrar Student Affairs and Mr. Tajamul Hussain Manger Placement Office.

All the attendees one by one introduced his/her organization, the scope of organization, their area of work etc. Worthy Vice Chancellor briefly explained about CUST vision and mission. He further explained that CUST is a federally chartered university and get status of federal chartered back in 2015.

He also introduced about 5 faculties of CUST where faculty of Management Sciences and faculty of Computing are the oldest faculty and faculty of Pharmacy is newly launched in the University. Total strength of CUST is 5000 plus students where 200 plus PhD’s schoolers.

Worthy Vice Chancellor explained about VIS formation. He said that it was discussed in board of governors meeting held in 2016-17. There should be something special regardless of education and then an idea was generated in order to lead the students of CUST towards social responsibility.

This program aims to give our youth a view of the flipside of this world that’s worlds apart from the one they were brought up in. For this purpose, every graduating student of CUST will volunteer 65 hours of community service in order to make him/her a socially responsible citizen.

Worthy Vice Chancellor also quote about seminar on “Drug Abuse” held today in collaboration with Islamabad Police. He said that our aims that volunteerism must reflect in our students as we brief our students that your attitude should be reflected that you are educate person.

In the end of event Mr. Naeemullah Khan briefed the audience that we have received the proposed demand from the organizations. Our aims to plan next intake of volunteer more effectively with your collaboration. He formerly announced scheduled of next intake.

The event was concluded with vote of thanks to worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mansoor Ahmed. Finally, Ms. Rabia Fajer Pasha, Chairman Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education presented shield to worthy Vice Chancellor of CUST for his remarkable efforts not only in the field of education but also for the society in the shape of VIS.

Design of embankment dams

Faisalabad, December 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):Mr. Muhammad Moeen Chief Engineer, National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) delivered lecture through Webinar on Thursday December 2nd, 2021 to faculty and students of Department of Civil Engineering on the topic “Design of Embankment Dams”. He discussed various research trends in dams design and fundamental steps involved in design of embankment dams. He discussed how different geotechnical parameters should be kept in mind to design a dam also how different factors influence dam design.

He discussed failure criterion of embankment dams, different characteristics of foundation of dams, types of materials available for embankment dams construction, seepage control and foundation treatment methods. At the end of the session, participants asked the questions to the speaker and fruitful discussion was held.

4th Public and Stakeholder Consultation Workshop

Lahore, December 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):Department of City and Regional Planning (CRP) University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore in collaboration with Lahore Development Authority (LDA) organized a seminar on 4th Public and Stakeholder Consultation Workshop to showcase Master Plan for Lahore Division 2050 which aims to harness the core principles including Heritage, Economy, Inclusiveness, Vibrant Environment and Sustainability, and vision originally set by the LDA.

This master plan will provide a clear strategic framework within which direction for future growth and play an integral role in shaping the city’s urban environment. The seminar was attended by International Consultants, Planners, Engineers, Local Govt Officers, Architects, Stakeholders, Representatives from various public and private organizations, Deans, Chairmen, Faculty, and students of UET Lahore and public.

Syed Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi, Chief Metropolitan Planner, Prof. Dr. Rizwan Hameed Dean Faculty of Architecture and Planning and Prof. Dr. Shakir Mahmood Chairman CRP welcomed the participants. Mr. Kamil Khan Mumtaz briefed the participants on the master plan report in detail. International Consultant Eric Wright gave a detailed briefing on the Master plan. However, the participants gave their suggestions regarding Master Plan 2050.
