Seminar on “Preparation of Central Superior Services Competitive Examination 2022” 

Wah Cantt, November 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):Department of Management Sciences, UW organized an orientation Seminar on “Preparation of Central Superior Services (CSS) Competitive Examination 2022” on 11 November 2021. The seminar aimed at benefiting CSS aspirants in preparing better for CSS/PMS Competitive Examination-an exam for recruitment to BS-17 at Federal and Provincial Level. Mr Ashfaq Ahmad, an expert USAID Trainer and Leadership Coach currently working as Controller Military Accounts at POFs, Wah Cantt was the guest speaker.

He highlighted the salient aspects of CSS exam from pre-preparation to post-qualification stage when they are ready to join Civil Services Academy. Participants from UW attended the session and got fruitful insights. Prof Dr Mushtaq Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences also provided his positive feedback on the session. The session ended on a note of thanks to all present.

The 12th meeting of ASRB of University of Turbat held 

Turbat, November 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):The 12th meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) of the University of Turbat (UoT) was held on 28th September 2021 at the meeting room of UoT. The UoT’s Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad chaired the meeting.

While welcoming the participants of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad said that “promoting quality research culture in the university is our top priority. With the consultation and coordination of the dean committee and heads of other sections, we have initiated various steps to further enhance research activities in the university and incline the faculty members and research scholars towards conducting research projects.”

Besides, approving the minutes of the last meeting of the ASRB, the board also discussed and resolved the enrollment, thesis, and thesis evaluation report of the MS/M.Phil. Scholars of Chemistry, Balochi, and Management Sciences Department. The august body also discussed and resolved various agenda items including revised graduate rules, ASRB calendar, and scope of the directorate of Academics and its functions.

IoBM student’s participation in Istanbul Marathon 

Karachi, November 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):IoBM student Muhammad Fasih Sumar recently participated in the Istanbul Marathon, the only intercontinental marathon in the world. Among the 5,000 participants, 20 represented Pakistan. Fasih was representing Karachi’s local club, Wednesday Night Pacers. Interestingly, only 1% of the world’s population has ever run a marathon in their lifetime. The average marathon time for men worldwide is about 4 hours and 30 minutes. Fasih finished the Marathon in 4:56:16. He is currently studying at IoBM in the MBA (2-year) Weekend Program.

Career Fair 2021 on full swing at UET Lahore 

Lahore, November 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore organized annual Career Fair’2021. Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar participated as chief guest and inaugurated the event. He also visited all stalls. Talking to the participants at inauguration ceremony he said that Engineering University is an institution where students are being provided with opportunities for entrepreneurship as well as advanced technical training. It will ultimately help our youth to start small businesses on a large scale so that they can earn for themselves and their families.

Coordinator Career Fair Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser said that the purpose of this event was to provide employment opportunities to 2000 plus final year students by gathering the industries and academia on a single platform. More than 8000 students visited all the stalls in which Minhas Pipes, AMS group of companies, Educative, Abryx and many other industries recruited students on the spot. Deans, Chairmen, faculty members and large number of students were also present at this occasion.

Officials of more than 100 national and multi-national industries participated in the event with their 120 stalls where recruitment process was being done. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar appreciated the efforts of Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser and his team for organizing the mega event successfully. The event ended up in a very smooth way. In the end of event a dinner was arranged, and shields were presented to participant companies and organizers.

Saif Badar fined for showing dissent 

Lahore, November 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):Central Punjab’s Saif Badar has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee for a level 1 offence for showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during the fifth round Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021-22 match against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Multan Cricket Stadium.

Saif delayed his departure from the crease after he was adjudged out by umpire and made noise after reaching the dressing room. As such, he was found to have violated Article 2.8 of the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

On-field umpires Qaiser Waheed and Saqib Khan levelled the charge on the batter, who accepted the sanction proposed by match-referee Mohammad Javed Malik after requesting a hearing.
