PPP is the name of the people’s resistance against all forms of terrorism and extremism in the country: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Karachi, August 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid homage to the martyrs of the Quetta tragedy and said that it was one of the worst and darkest events in the history of our country. It was a vicious conspiracy against Balochistan and against the activists. On August 8, 2016, 73 people, including 56 lawyers, were killed in a terrorist attack in Quetta, including two media cameramen.

In a statement issued on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Quetta tragedy, PPP chairman said that the grief and anguish of the Quetta tragedy is still fresh in our hearts today and it’s a grief that the entire country will never forget. The brutal killing of innocents is unforgivable.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that it is unfortunate that the people in Balochistan are killed every day. The martyrs of the Quetta tragedy were murdered for the first time when this tragic incident took place. But by not implementing the recommendations of Justice Faiz Isa Commission of Inquiry into this tragedy, injustice is being done to these martyrs every day.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the right wing parties imposed on the country as a result of rigging have been obstructing the implementation of the National Action Plan including the recommendations of Justice Faiz Issa Commission of Inquiry. “There is still time to implement the National Action Plan to protect the lives and property of the people and to eradicate terrorism and extremism in the true sense of the word,” he stated.

The PPP chairman assured the families of those who lost their loved ones as a result of terrorism across the country that Pakistan Peoples Party will not tolerate terrorism and extremism and will do all that it can to eradicate the ill from the entire country. “PPP is the name of the people’s resistance against all forms of terrorism and extremism in the country,” said Chairman PPP. “The promotion of tolerance and equality is the manifesto of the Pakistan People’s Party.” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further said that no one can understand the pain of losing their loved ones as a result of terrorism better than me.

Strongly condemn attack on a temple in Rahimyar Khan: Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Lahore, August 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that vandalisation of the temple in Rahimyar Khan is deplorable. He said that the attack on the religious place violates the Islamic teachings and the laws of the land. He asked the government to apprehend all those involved in the attack on the temple and ensure their conviction and exemplary punishment. He said such attacks bring a bad name to Pakistan and Islam.

In a statement issued here from the central secretariat, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide fool-proof security to the worship places of the minority communities, adding that no laxity should be shown in this regard. He said that the followers of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), who allowed non-Muslims to pray in a mosque, cannot desecrate the religious places of other faiths. He said that the Islamic teachings and the Constitution of Pakistan are clear with regards to the sanctity of the worship places of all religions.

President MQI said that all non-Muslim minorities have been granted equal rights and privileges in Pakistan’s Constitution like their Muslim counterparts. He said that minority communities have always taken full part in the development of the motherland. ‘We greatly appreciate their political, social and economic role for the country. Some mischievous elements cannot and should not be allowed to harm the national solidarity,’ he added.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that MQI has been working for the promotion of interfaith harmony, peace and tolerance in society for the last four decades. He said that we are endeavouring to promote Islamic teachings based on respect for humanity under the leadership of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He said that MQI has set up an Interfaith Relations department to institutionalise the interfaith engagement. He said that we expect that the state of Pakistan will deal with all such elements that spread religious and sectarian strife and hatred with iron hand.

“The state is duty-bound to come down hard on such people who bring a bad name to Islam and Pakistan. Nothing short of it will repair the damage done to the country’s image as a result of this deplorable incident in Rahimyar Khan,” he concluded.

Shoriful reprimanded for breaching ICC Code of Conduct

Dubai, August 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):Bangladesh fast bowler Shoriful Islam has been given an official reprimand for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the third T20I against Australia in Dhaka on Friday.

Shoriful was found to have breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”

In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to the disciplinary record of Shoriful, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period. The incident occurred in the 18th over of Australia’s innings. Shoriful, after dismissing Mitchell Marsh, celebrated excessively in close proximity to the batter, which could have provoked an aggressive response from Marsh.

Shoriful admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Neeyamur Rashid of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

On-field umpires Sharfuddoula Saikat and Gazi Sohel, third umpire Masudur Rahman and fourth official Tanvir Ahmed levelled the charge.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.
