Islamic Orientation Program Aims to Enhance Teacher Expertise in Karachi

Karachi, An Islamic Orientation Program designed to advance the educational capabilities of teachers and religious scholars was recently conducted at the Regional Da’wah Center (Sindh). The event, organized by Dawah Academy of the International Islamic University Islamabad, attracted various religious scholars and educators, focusing on merging traditional teachings with modern approaches to address today’s educational challenges.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the program titled “Islamic Training Program for Teachers and Religious Madrasahs” was aimed at equipping participants with skills to tackle modern-day issues using a balanced approach of classical religious teachings and contemporary knowledge. Esteemed speakers, including Dr. Zubain Ashraf Usmani and Mufti Muhammad Zahid, addressed the need for teachers to broaden their educational scope and apply their own experiences and scholarly advice to overcome teaching challenges.

Dr. Ikram ul Haq Yasin emphasized the responsibility of educators in interpreting and solving societal issues through teachings that align with both modern-day relevancies and Islamic Shariah. The sessions also highlighted various aspects such as the importance of language in teaching, the role of technology in education, and the integration of traditional madrasah teachings with modern educational demands.

The closing ceremony featured Dr. Zubair Ashraf Usmani, Vice Chancellor of Jamia Darul Uloom, Karachi, who encouraged the use of modern technology and media for promoting Islamic teachings globally. He stressed the importance of respectful engagement with diverse texts and traditions within Islamic jurisprudence.

The event concluded with Dr. Syed Aziz ur Rehman, in-charge of the Regional Da’wah Center, expressing gratitude towards the participants and affirming the ongoing educational efforts of the Dawah Academy throughout the year. Certificates were distributed among the participants by the chief guest at the ceremony, marking the program’s successful completion.
