LAHORE: Punjab University has experienced a significant surge in applications for its Undergraduate Programmes 2026. According to University of the Punjab, the institution received more than 25,000 additional finalized applications compared to the previous year. This year, the University processed a total of 147,909 applications, with 113,182 being finalized. In the first phase of admissions in 2025, 120,395 applications were received, out of which 87,831 were finalized.

PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali emphasized that the increase in applications highlights Punjab University's continued appeal to students, attributing this to the University's academic standards. The Vice Chancellor noted that the rise in applications indicates growing student confidence in the University. He stated that PU is actively deploying resources to enhance students' academic, co-curricular, research, and professional skills. Prof Dr. Ali reiterated the University's commitment to developing talented and ethical citizens who can contribute to society, industry, and national progress. Additionally, an AI chatbot has been introduced for the first time to assist applicants during the admission and entry test process, offering improved guidance and support.
