Islamabad, August 18, 2023 (PPI-OT): According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, while parents have a high decision power (86%) when it comes to family marriages, 12% Pakistanis said it was their own decision to marry within the family.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women married within their family, from across the country, was asked the question “Whose decision was it to arrange your marriage within the family?” In response, 86% said parents’ decision, 12% said own decision, 1% said others and 1% said that they don’t know or gave no response.
