VIS Launches Free Eye Camp on Raiwind Road to Aid Rural Communities

Raiwind: In an effort to extend healthcare services to rural communities with limited access, Volunteers in Service (VIS) department, in collaboration with Transparent Hands and Life Hospital, launched a Free Eye Camp on Raiwind Road. The camp, which commenced on Friday, August 30, 2024, marks the resumption of VIS’s commitment to providing essential medical services after a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to University of Central Punjab, the event began with a tour of Life Hospital, where volunteers were briefed on the ongoing healthcare efforts. Subsequently, the team set up the camp, offering free eye check-ups, medications, and eyeglasses to those in need. The initiative saw a significant turnout, with many patients receiving necessary eye care at no cost.

The successful execution of the Free Eye Camp is attributed to the dedication of the UCP volunteers and the expertise of medical professionals from Transparent Hands and Life Hospital. This event is the first of many planned health camps aimed at improving healthcare availability in underserved areas.
