UVAS Completes Intensive MPhil/PhD Supervisors Training in Lahore

Lahore: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) successfully concluded a five-day training program for MPhil/PhD supervisors at its City Campus in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission. The event, part of a series designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the university’s faculty, was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Younus, who also distributed certificates to participants.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the training session aimed to empower supervisors with the latest methodologies and teaching skills essential for guiding postgraduate students. Prof Dr. Muhammad Younus emphasized the transformative impact of such educational initiatives, noting their importance in fostering professional growth and enhancing academic responsibilities. He praised the efforts of Prof Dr. Aneela Zameer Durrani, the Training Chief Organizer, for her role in the meticulous execution of the program.

The training covered a wide array of topics including the roles and expectations of supervisors, maintaining research momentum, monitoring progress, supporting candidate wellbeing, and fostering professional development. It also stressed the importance of building effective relationships with students and aiding their efforts in writing and publication.

The session was part of UVAS’s ongoing commitment to faculty development, as highlighted in another recent training under the Continuing Faculty Development Program. This initiative was led by the Center for Education Policy and Administration, focusing on modern approaches to higher education.

The closing ceremony included a special prayer for the university’s progress and a cake-cutting ceremony symbolizing unity and a shared commitment to excellence and integrity among the faculty and staff.
