UVAS Celebrates Spring Festival 2024 with Array of CompetitionsNational Textile University Students Shine at GC Women University Exhibition

Lahore, The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore recently celebrated its Spring Festival 2024, hosting an array of competitions that showcased the talents and creativity of its students. Under the guidance of the UVAS Senior Tutor Office, the festival at the City Campus featured events ranging from drama and standup comedy to a wild wardrobe carnival and the catecholamine game competition.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the drama competition, organized by the Natak Mandli Society, saw the Environmental Sciences team clinching the first position, followed by the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine team in second and third places, respectively. In the standup comedy contest, Adil Yaqub emerged as the winner, with Mariam from Human Nutrition and Dietetics and Shahbaz from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences securing the second and third spots.

The wild wardrobe carnival, organized by the Special Animal and Veterinary Emergency Relief Society (SAVERS), featured imaginative entries, with Saim Khalid winning the first position in the Lion category. Faris Butt and Syeda Mahin, both from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, were awarded second and third places in the Zebra category.

Aniqa from Human Nutrition and Dietetics won the catecholamine game competition, with Zain Ali from the Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology and Hiba from Medical Lab Technology rounding out the top three. The Qirtaas Society’s competitions in Urdu ghazal, regional poetry, afsana, English poetry, Urdu nazam, English short story, essay, bait bazi, and English poem saw a variety of winners across different departments, highlighting the diverse talents of UVAS students.

The concluding ceremony featured Emeritus Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad as the chief guest, who distributed shields to the winners. The event was attended by Principal Officer Students Affairs Prof Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Senior Tutor Prof Dr. Ali Raza Awan, Registrar Sajjad Hyder, and other faculty members, alongside a large number of students from various departments.

The Spring Festival 2024 at UVAS was a vibrant celebration of student achievements, fostering a spirit of competition and camaraderie among the participants.

Faisalabad, Students from the School of Art and Design (SOAD) at National Textile University showcased their creative prowess at a two-day exhibition held on February 28 and 29, 2024, at GC Women University, Madinat Town. Under the guidance of Ms. Aroobah, Ms. Nida, and Ms. Zunaira, the students presented a diverse and vibrant collection of products and artworks, drawing attention to their innovative designs and artistic skills.



According to National Textile University, the exhibition featured an array of unique creations by the design students, spanning various styles and mediums. The event attracted a large number of visitors, who were notably impressed by the wide range of products on display. The students’ contributions were highly praised, highlighting the success of the exhibition in showcasing the talents and creative abilities of those studying at the university.
