Lahore, The Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) hosted its annual Doctor of Veterinary Medicine dinner at the City Campus, featuring an array of cultural performances and the launch of a new digital extension service. The event was attended by key figures in education and veterinary science, including the Provincial Minister for School Education Punjab, Rana Sikandar Hayat.
According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the dinner saw participation from a wide spectrum of the veterinary community including faculty members, students, and professionals from the pharmaceutical, animal nutrition, poultry, and livestock sectors. The evening was enriched with activities ranging from skits and comedy poetry to musical and cultural performances, highlighting the diverse talents of the students.
Rana Sikandar Hayat, who inaugurated the digitalization of UVAS’s 24/7 extension services system, emphasized the critical role of veterinarians in animal welfare and called for enhanced training for students to meet national and international standards. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus, Vice-Chancellor of UVAS, spoke about the university’s efforts to bridge academia and industry, addressing industry issues through research and knowledge.
The event concluded with an award ceremony where Rana Sikandar Hayat, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus, and other dignitaries distributed certificates of appreciation to the event organizers, acknowledging their efforts in executing a successful gathering.
