University of Haripur Advances Faculty Development with Policy and Ethics Training

HARIPUR: The University of Haripur has continued its Faculty Development Training Program, titled “Empowering Educators: Enhancing Professionalism, Pedagogy, and Research in Higher Education,” by successfully conducting its second, third, and fourth sessions. The initiative, led by the Human Resource Development Cell under the direction of Prof. Dr. Aziz Ullah, focuses on equipping faculty with updated skills and knowledge critical to higher education.

The second session, which occurred on August 26, was helmed by Mr. Tahir Abbas Zaidi, a former Program Coordinator at NAHE-HEC. Zaidi addressed “National Higher Education Policies,” providing an overview of Pakistan’s higher education policies and their impact on universities. He highlighted the importance of aligning teaching and research practices with national guidelines.

On August 27, Prof. Dr. Fida Younus Khattak, former Dean of Kohat University of Science and Technology, led the third session on “Course Coding.” Dr. Khattak emphasized the role of course coding in curriculum design, accreditation, and ensuring academic transparency. The session offered practical strategies for developing effective course structures.

The fourth session, conducted on August 28 by Mr. Manzoor Ahmed, focused on “Teachers’ Professional and Behavioral Ethics in the Light of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.” Ahmed emphasized educators’ ethical responsibilities, drawing from Iqbal’s philosophy to underscore the teacher’s role as a guide and mentor.

These sessions are part of an ongoing initiative aimed at enhancing the professionalism, pedagogy, and research abilities of university faculty members. The program will continue with further sessions tailored to meet the evolving demands of the higher education sector.
