UET Lahore’s Drama and Mime Festival 2026 Celebrates Art and Inclusivity

LAHORE: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore recently hosted the "Voices of Inclusion - Lahore Drama and Mime Festival 2026," a two-day event that transformed the university's Auditorium Complex into a hub of artistic expression. Students from various universities across Punjab filled the venue to capacity, engaging in performances that explored social issues, human emotions, and societal behaviors, earning widespread acclaim from the audience.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the festival was organized by the UET Dramatics Society in collaboration with the Digital Development Lab and Soch Foundation for Education and Awareness, with support from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI). Participating universities included the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Lahore Garrison University, University of the Punjab, and several others. Noteworthy performances included a play by the UET Dramatics Society that delved into the inner conflict of a young individual, as well as presentations by persons with disabilities that highlighted their challenges and resilience.

The festival also featured Punjab Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat as the Chief Guest, who announced a collective cash prize of PKR 500,000 for the top three performing teams. He commended the students' creative talents and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting social awareness. UET Lahore's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, highlighted the role of these activities in nurturing students' creative abilities alongside academic learning. The event was further attended by the High Commissioner of Canada, Tarek Ali Khan, and other distinguished guests, contributing to a memorable celebration of art and inclusivity.
