Lahore, The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, in a significant initiative to bolster innovation and research, organized the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Competitions and All Pakistan Project Exhibition 2024. The event, a showcase of ingenuity and scientific inquiry, saw participation from all departments of UET Lahore and its sub-campuses, including UET New Campus KSK, Rachna College of Engineering and Technology (UET RCET) Gujranwala, Faisalabad (UET FSD) Campus, and Narowal (UET NWL) campus.
According to University of Engineering and Technology, the exhibition was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of UET Lahore, Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayyat, along with the Society Advisor Prof. Dr. Shahid Rafique. They visited seventy-one stalls where students from more than twenty universities across Pakistan displayed their final year projects. Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayyat praised the initiative, highlighting the importance of STEM competitions in encouraging students to engage in critical thinking, teamwork, and innovative problem-solving.
The event not only served as a platform for students to showcase their projects but also emphasized the development of collaborative and social skills through real-world problem-solving challenges. Prof. Dr. Shahid Rafique, faculty members, and a large number of students participated in the vibrant gathering, underlining the event’s success in fostering a spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation among the youth.
The exhibition concluded with the distribution of cash prizes, awarding Rs. 50,000 to the first-place winner, Rs. 30,000 to the second-place winner, and Rs. 20,000 to the third-place winner, further incentivizing the pursuit of excellence in STEM fields among Pakistani students.
