Faisalabad, August 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):NTU Library organized a hands-on- training session on “How to manage references: use of MENDELEY software” for faculty, staff and students on 18-07-2023. This session was chaired by Mr. Waqar Ahmad, Assistant Professor Computer Science Department and shared his views on the occasion. Resource Person of that session was Dr. Tariq Najmi, Director Library, COMSATS University Lahore. He is well known researcher in Pakistan. The session aimed to explore the capabilities and applications of Mendeley.

Research can explore different research directions and get inspiration for new studies. Dr. Najmi demonstrated how Mendeley can be leveraged to validate research methodologies and study designs. He introduced to the use of software in data analysis. Overall, the session was well-received, and participants expressed enthusiasm incorporating Mendeley into their research workflow. While addressing to participants Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Senior Librarian said that such type of training session/workshops plays vital role to strengthen the searching skills of researchers and scholars to meet the information needs of modern era. He further added that NTU library will be equipped with more digital resources very soon.

He said that research cannot be conducted without library and library is a back bone of every educational institute. He also appreciated the library team on conducting the session. Mr. Muhammad Shahzad Arshad, IT Incharge, Mr. Saeed Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Applied Science Department, and rich number of faculty, staff and MS, PhDs scholars were also present on this occasion. Training certificate were distributed among the participants by Mr. Waqar Ahmad and Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad at the end of this training session.
