PTI Criticizes Sindh Government for Alleged Misuse of Provincial Funds

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General Secretary Arslan Khalid has issued a strong condemnation against the Sindh government, accusing it of diverting public funds to other provinces for political purposes.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khalid expressed significant disapproval in his statement, highlighting the injustice faced by the people of Sindh due to the allocation of the province's budget for projects outside its borders. He criticized the establishment of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) in Multan, funded by Sindh's budget, as both controversial and unethical. Khalid emphasized the dire state of Sindh's healthcare system, noting that local hospitals are in disrepair and lack essential supplies, while resources are directed elsewhere.

Khalid alleged that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has a history of misusing Sindh's funds, citing previous incidents such as the alleged financial manipulation at the Sindh House in Islamabad and during the Gilgit-Baltistan elections. He questioned the motive behind investing Sindh's money in Azad Kashmir, suggesting that the PPP views the province as a personal domain to further its political ambitions.

He described the deteriorating conditions in Karachi and Sindh, with citizens facing shortages and infrastructural decay, while accusing the Sindh government of prioritizing other provinces. Khalid called for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and relevant authorities to investigate the misuse of funds, urging the Sindh government to focus on local development rather than political expenditures. He insisted that taxpayers' money should serve the welfare and growth of Sindh's residents, rather than political ends.
