Bahawalpur, April 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): The inaugural ceremony of the journal “Pakistan Journal of Qur’anic Studies” published under the Department of Quranic Studies was held at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat, Baghdad Al-Jadeed Campus, Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Journal Patron Chief Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur inaugurated the online journal website with his blessed hand. Dr. Ziaur Rehman, editor of the journal, chairman of the Department of Quranic Studies, while briefly discussing the achievements of the department, said that in a short period of time, five sessions of BS, four sessions of MPhil and four sessions of PhD are running successfully.
Revolutionary steps were taken in off-studies such as the launch of a research magazine and the annual magazine “Barg-e-Sahra” to highlight the academic and literary abilities of the students of the department. The beginning of Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shafiqur Rehman, Dean of Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies, Dr. Muhammad Atif, Director of Orak, Managing Editor, Dr. Muhammad Khabib, Assistant Professor, Department of Religions, Scholars and Inter-Religious Harmony, and Dr. Shafia Arshad Journal Expert participated in this event. Vice-Chancellor Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob appreciated the services of Dr. Zia-ur-Rehman and Dr. Mohammad Khabib and expressed good wishes saying that this journal will play an important role in the publication of Islamic sciences and especially Quranic sciences.
He assured to provide all kinds of administrative and technical requirements in this regard.
