Turbat, October 02, 2021 (PPI-OT): Brigadier Fahad Mansoor, Commander 440 Brigade, Gwadar paid a visit to the Gwadar Campus of the University of Turbat (UoT) on 28th September 2021. Major Zarak has also accompanied him. Brigadier was warmly welcomed by the Campus Director Ijaz Ahmed along with faculty and administrative staff.

Besides achievements accomplished by UoT’s Gwadar Campus in a short span of time, the Campus Director during the meeting, also briefed the guests regarding progress so far towards the establishment of the University of Gwadar. In-charge Education Department Sadia Naseer, In-charge Commerce Department Mujahid Hussain, and In-charge Computer Science Department Muhammad Akram were also present on the occasion.

After visiting different sections of the campus, Brigadier Fahad said that he was surprised to see such a developed and well-managed university campus in this region. “It was indeed a pleasure to visit the University of Turbat’s Gwadar Campus. I have found it to be an excellent state of educational excellence and striving to be one of the best in the region.

The faculty under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad and ownership of the Campus Director has carried out immense hard work to bring it to the present status. Insha Allah I will keep on visiting the esteemed institution more often”, Brigadier Fahad said while sharing his views regarding the academic and infrastructural development of the campus. Director Campus presented a shield to the Brigadier on behalf of Worthy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad.

Turbat, September 22, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Vice Chancellor University of Turbat (UoT), Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, visited UoT’s Gwadar Campus along with Director Finance, Mr. Shahbeek Syed, Chairman, Computer Science Department, Mr. Mukhtar Hussain, Chairman Education Department, Mr. Manzoor Ahmed and PSO to Vice Chancellor Mr Chaker Hyder on 17th September 2021. Besides holding meeting with Campus Director, Ijaz Ahmed in his office, the Vice Chancellor also chaired an interactive session with faculty members and admin staff at Campus Library.

Addressing to the interactive session, he said that, despite limited resources, the students and staff of Gwadar and Panjgur Campus were being properly facilitated and efforts were underway for the further development of the sub campuses of the university at Gwadar and Panjgur for the promotion of quality education in this region. The Vice Chancellor expressed his desire to establish a digital library in the campus to give the opportunity to the students and faculty members for better access to the latest books and research journal/articles of their relevant discipline. He also floated the idea that the services of PhD qualified faculty members from UoT’s main campus can be borrowed to take some classes in Gwadar Campus on regular interval.

Turbat, August 24, 2021 (PPI-OT): The University of Turbat’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Jan Muhammad on 27th July 2021 presided over the 12th meeting of the Finance and Planning Committee at the meeting hall of the University. The meeting was also attended by Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor, Ex-Director Health Services, Dr. Taj Baloch, Dean Faculty of Economics, Commerce and Business Administration, Dr. Waseem Barkat, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Sciences Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Lecturer Department of Commerce, Rehmat Ullah, Deputy Director Finance HEC, Aziz Ullah, Director QEC, Dr. Gul Hassan, Registrar Ghulam Farooq and Director Finance (A) Shabeek Syed.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor urged to ensure financial, academic, and administrative excellence in the University. He vowed that necessary initiatives would be launched to take the university on a new path of innovation and development. Besides, confirming the minutes of the previous meeting of the Committee, the house discussed and resolved the Revised Budget Estimates for the financial year 2020-21 and Finalized Budget 2021-22 and sent their recommendations to the upcoming meeting of the Syndicate.

The Committee also discussed and resolved the matters related to reinvestment of Endowment Fund, Additional Remuneration of Dean, HoD, Director and other In-charge of different offices in the UoT, Disparity Reduction Allowance, financial impact of the staff of University’s Model School and establishment of Directorate of Information Technology (IT) in UoT. The house also approved to increase the remuneration of the Teaching Fellows and Visiting Faculty members of the University from Fall Semester 2021.

Turbat, August 24, 2021 (PPI-OT): The Governor of Balochistan Syed Zahoor Ahmad Agha was briefed on the academic and financial progress and infrastructural development of the University of Turbat (UoT) by a delegation of UoT led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad here at Governor House in Quetta on 20th August 2021. The delegation was also included Dean Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Director ORIC, Dr. Ghulam Jan, Director UoT’s Gwadar campus, Ijaz Ahmed, PSO to Vice-Chancellor, Chaker Hyder, and Assistant Registrar UoT’s Panjgur campus Aftaf Aslam. The Principal Secretary to Governor Shahnawaz Ali was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor of Balochistan said that it was imperative to understand the role of highly educated women in the sustainable development and prosperity of the country and nation. The large number of female students at the University of Turbat proves that the women of Balochistan are second to none in talent. Appreciating the tireless efforts of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Turbat and his entire team, he said that it was certainly commendable that despite being in a remote area of the province and with limited resources, the University of Turbat was on the path of development in a short span of time.

The Governor of Balochistan directed that the power system of the entire university should be transferred to the solar system as soon as possible. He said that “making higher education accessible for the students of remote areas like Mekran and its adjacent areas is an encouraging step which ensures that the future prospects of the country and the province are bright.” The Governor of Balochistan assured to take all-out efforts for providing necessary facilities to the university and resolving the problems faced by the university and its sub-campuses at Gwadar and Panjgur. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad earlier informed the Governor that the university has planned to promote modern education by paying more attention towards innovation, research, and modern technology in order to impart quality education to the students of the university according to the requirements of the time.

Turbat, August 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University of Turbat (UoT) Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad has said that the extensive tree plantation drive and nurturing the trees were vital in order to protect the environment for the present as well as future generations. He said this on 5th August 2021 while inaugurating the tree plantation drive under UoT-Geen and Clean Campaign by planting a tree in front of the administration block at the main campus.

The Dean Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor, Registrar Ghulam Farooq, Dean Faculty of Economics, Commerce and Business Administration Dr. Waseem Barkat, PSO to Vice-Chancellor Chaker Hyder, Heads of various teaching departments and administrative sections, faculty members, and other officers were also present on the occasion and they also planted samples at the lawn of their respective department.

“The University of Turbat is committed to actively take part in plantation drive under Prime Minister’s Program ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ in order to achieve the goals of green Pakistan by planting 10 billion trees around the country,” VC said. Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad has directed all Deans, directors of campuses, faculty members, staff, and students to participate devotedly in tree plantation drive to make the university’s campuses green, clean, and eco-friendly.
