Facilitators should realise that Imran Khan has become a security risk: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Islamabad, June 22, 2021 (PPI-OT): Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari declared Imran Khan’s interview as unfortunate. Talking to media at the parliament house in Islamabad, Chairman Bilawal said that we should side with the victims in the rape cases and Imran Khan is sitting in an office where he has to be very careful about what he says. If he will talk like this then he will send a message that the victims of injustice are at fault as he is making an excuse for those who are committing a crime. Dressing has nothing to do with rape. We will have to review our language and the society will have to take a stance for the victims.

He said that Imran Khan has destroyed every institution. Responding to a question about Osama Bin Ladin, he said that this government is a coward government, Imran Khan was always a coward and was not ready to call a terrorist by name and when our children were brutally murdered in APS he was not ready to call Baitullah Mehsud a terrorist. Osama Bin Ladin is known as a terrorist all around the world.

He tried to assassinate the prime minister of Pakistan through Ramzi Yousuf. In 1994 the terrorists wanted to conduct a coup in Pakistan. Does Imran Khan not know that OBL had played a role in terrorizing the entire world? Does he not know that the assassination of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto also points a finger at him? IF OBL is not a terrorist then who is a terrorist? He is a poster boy for terrorists who started this terrorism. He gave a bad name to Islam. Every Pakistani and Muslim has the responsibility to call him a terrorist and he does not represent Islam. Islam is a peaceful religion.

We greet each other with peace. Imran Khan will have to review his policy. If our foreign minister cannot talk about OBL on international forum then it will have an impact of Pakistani foreign policy. At the moment the entire world is watching the situation in Afghanistan and our adversaries are trying to find opportunities to accuse us but our Prime Minister on the floor of assembly calls him a Shaheed. Our foreign minister invites terrorists to attack our system then it is the failure of the state, Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood should apologise to the nation and every victim of terrorism. No one should be allowed to terrorise us or the world.

Regarding elections in Kashmir, Chairman Bilawal said that he will soon go to Kashmir and the responses received have been very good. PPP is the only party that is trusted by the Kashmiri people for being able to solve their problems in every situation. They do not trust anyone but the PPP. Prime Minister Khan does not know anything about Kashmir or the nuclear programme. The nuclear programme was founded by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who used to say that he cannot make a mistake about Kashmir even when asleep.

When Modi had attacked Kashmir, our Prime Minister Khan said on the floor of the Assembly presented his ‘plan’. He had said that Kashmir issue will be solved by Modi’s win. Khan Saheb has become a security risk for the country. His policy about Kashmir is a security risk. His statement about nuclear capability has become a security risk. When will the facilitators of Imran Khan become aware of the fact that Khan Saheb is security risk, and will have to go?

PPP won’t allow re-imposition of destructive politics of hatred in Sindh: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Karachi, June 21, 2021 (PPI-OT): Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has categorically stated that we won’t allow Altaf Hussain’s type of politics to be re-imposed in Sindh which proved completely destructive. Sindh is the province of peace and tranquility and people in this province live like brothers. Nonetheless, he would take all measure into account to remove despondence and sense of deprivation that the people feel here.

The PPP Chairman expressed these views while addressing an event at Sindh Assembly building to commemorate the 68th birth anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s birthday today. He said the youth of the province has always been peaceful and on issues their protests have also been peaceful. However, a handful of frustrated elements are as usual busy hatching conspiracies against the peace and tranquility in the province and these elements are eager to create a fuss by misleading the youth, pushing them to acts of violence and acts of terrorism and extremism which has to be stopped.

The youth has to be helped to portray their actual face and it is very crucial to take measures to foil such conspiracies and to bring back those who have been trapped in conspiracies. The PPP Chairman said that it is need of the hour that jobs must be given to the locals who carry local domiciles. There should a new law that should make sure that locals get preferences in acquiring jobs in all businesses and including real estate, he added.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged for creating a forum to provide legal assistance to the displaced and affected locals in case they are ignored. We will never allow anyone to inflict damages to lives and property of the others, he said.

He said the fraudulent slogan of ‘Tabdeeli’ on which the incumbent government was selected and imposed on the people is depriving the people of their basic needs of easy employments and shelters. This is what they call a New Pakistan. They are destroying democratic norms and values. These frustrated elements are destroying the concept of Federation and Islamic democratic system that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had given to the country and provinces were thus integrated.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that in spite of financial crunch, challenges and unprecedented impediments that the global pandemic brought, Sindh government sanely managed things and delivered amicably. The performances of Sindh government are open and deserve due applause. Sadly, the rivals would never praise us.

The PPP Chairman said we will not allow anyone in Sindh to bring back Altaf Hussain’s politics and put to fight one brother against another. Sindh is a peaceful province, people from all provinces live here, he added. He said that the youth of Sindh have always been peaceful and know how to protest for their rights, but now under a conspiracy they are being identified as extremists and terrorists. Steps will have to be taken to get those, who are seduced, in the right direction.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed that all major businesses, including real estate, should be required to give preference to local domiciles for employment. A forum should also be set up to provide legal aid to the victims of such real estate business. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that no one would be allowed to come and burn someone else’s house.

He further said that in the new Pakistan that is being created in front of us, bread, cloth and house is being snatched from the people and at the same time democratic dream is being snatched from us while the Islamic democratic and federal system of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had united all the provinces.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that in spite of challenges, impediments and financial crunch that the global pandemic COVID-19 brought with it, Sindh government served the people of the provinces diligently and managed affairs amicably. However, the rivals feel embarrassed and start criticizing and ridiculing Sindh government. It is as usual as a jaundiced eye always sees yellow in everything.

But they can’t ditch the sane people of Sindh as the GDP of the province is better than other provinces due to well planning and determination of people’s elected Sindh government as compared to selector’s selected ineligible federal government. The selected and ineligible Prime Minister Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi and his Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar can’t compete with Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah. They should take lessons from Shah as how to use limited resources and slashed revenue from NFC for the upliftment and betterment of the people, he added.

He said that there is no denying poverty in the province, but Sindh has reduced poverty as compared to other provinces, while the highest increase in poverty has been in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sindh province’s rural and urban per capita income is better than other provinces of the country.

He said that poverty is record high in the country but since Sindh government has taken timely measures to alleviate poverty, it is down as compared to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. New NFC has not yet been brought forward by the federal government, which had committed to release Rs.1 trillion for renewal of infrastructure in Karachi along with required upliftment but the selected government took a U-turn on it and duped the people as the federal budget is silent on it.

The PPP Chairman said that jobs in Sindh for the locals have been cut and the people have been deprived of their due rights. Even the ten thousand people have been rendered jobless by retrenching the work force of Pakistan Steel Mills. They are also sacking officers of FIA because they hailed from Sindh, he pointed out. They have closed Public Service Commission in Sindh except all Pakistan. Thus, this deliberate closure of the Commission is a direct threat to employees recruited per the criteria of the Commission since 2016.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Sindh province is the only province that has beefed up measures to lift the downtrodden by raising their wages and salaries. PPP promulgated Benazir Income Support Program and People’s Poverty Alleviation Program are catering to the needs of the poor successfully. It is a well-documented reality that Sindh’s government is performing well, he added.

He said that other provinces are far behind with regard to gathering revenue through applied taxes. In Sindh, traders and businessmen are never tortured and never treated like thieves. The tax rate in Sindh is lower than other provinces. He said that Sindh CM has raised his voice against the econo-legal attacks on Sindh, and now the PPP has decided to take the people into confidence and apprise them what the federal government is doing against their interests.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pointed out that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto first included public-private partnership in her Election Manifesto in 1993 and now Sindh is the only province that has completed much work on it. Thar Coal Project is a bright instance of this public-private partnership project in which the Sindh government along with its business community has brought about an economic revolution in Thar. World’s renowned periodicals such as The Economist magazine has acknowledged that Sindh’s public-private partnership is the best model not only in Pakistan but in the entire region, he added.

He said that PPP does not care for Sindh alone but it has concerns for the whole of the country. IRSA case is an example where PPP protested against neglecting three provinces. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari vowed that he would continue to fight for the due share from NFC award. PPP will never compromise on constitutional rights of the people of Sindh as well as of other provinces.

Asif Ali Zardari said that the ideology for which Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed sacrificed her life is a beacon for us. “Conspiracies are being hatched today against the 18th Amendment, parliament is being disrespected, media is being restricted, freedom of expression is being curtailed, but we are committed to combat with the antidemocratic forces,” he said. Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pays glowing tributes to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on her birthday

Islamabad, June 20, 2021 (PPI-OT):Remembering Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on the occasion of her 68th birth anniversary, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that today when the governance of Pakistan has derailed, and the institutions, as well as the people of the country, are at the mercy of ruthless cartels, it is but natural for every Pakistani to miss the daughter of the East. Her vision for the country’s future was one every patriot of our nation dreams of even today.

In a statement issued from the Media Cell Bilawal House, the Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid tribute to Benazir Bhutto – the Islamic world’s first elected Prime Minister. “No matter how many years or centuries pass, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s struggle, great sacrifices, and humanitarian philosophy are eternal. Due to efforts she made in her lifetime, the day isn’t far when Pakistan achieves a stature of victory on an international level.”

Paying homage to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in eloquent words, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed that she is not solely Pakistan’s former Prime Minister; she is the name of a movement. He further said that such movements make a mark in the history of the world and are responsible for the birth of new progressive eras.

“Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto fostered democratic thinking at the grassroots level,” declared Chairman PPP. “As an elected Prime Minister, she supported the supremacy of the Constitution and Parliament. Simultaneously, she created institutions for people-friendly governance and ensured access to fundamental rights such as education, health, and employment for the underprivileged.”

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also spoke of the game-changing programs and legislations the former Prime Minister introduced for the welfare of women, children, minorities, and workers. “Whether she was in the government or the opposition, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto always remained a symbol of hope for the people,” he said.

Speaking of the struggles faced by the former PM during her life, Chairman PPP added that humanity is ashamed of the atrocities committed against Benazir Bhutto by the anti-people forces. These forces are also responsible for killing her father, two brothers, and countless comrades. He also spoke about the false accusations and propaganda that were created to tarnish her reputation.

“Benazir Bhutto was subjected to extreme persecution because the oppressors knew that the daughter of the East was not only the inheritor of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s intellectual struggle. But was also a follower of Quaid-e-Azam’s vision and ideology,” stated Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Praising people’s love and loyalty for the daughter of the East, Chairman PPP said that he is grateful to everyone who did not allow Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s legacy to be forgotten even for a moment. “History has revealed that the Pakistani nation never forgets its well-wishers, nor does it make mistakes in recognizing its enemies.”

Chairman PPP assured the nation that he would continue his struggle to fulfill the unfinished mission of his martyred mother to strengthen democracy and make Pakistan prosperous. “Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto is a symbol of hope against dictatorship, terrorism, and extremism,” he stated. “And I will carry her life’s mission forward.”

It’s worse under Imran Khan’s govt today for journalists than it was under Zia’s martial law

Islamabad, June 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari chaired a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Human Rights in the parliament. The meeting discussed the issue of attacks on journalists and the Protection of Journalists and Media Bill. Journalists including Hamid Mir, Absar Alam, Munizae Jahangir, Asma Shirazi, Asad Toor and Ehtesham Khan attended the meeting at the invitation of Chairman Standing Committee on Human Rights Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman Bilawal said that the committee has summoned journalists who have been attacked or harassed. He said that the entities who shot at Absar Alam were not identified. There was such brutal violence, Hamid Mir was shot many years ago but the Sindh government was not even given CCTV footage of the attack. He said that he still does not know the outcome of the cases regarding the attacks on journalists. It was agreed with the Federal Minister for Human Rights that a sub-committee would be formed on the Journalist Protection Bill. Chairman Bilawal said that if the Journalist Protection Bill is passed without the review of the opposition, the opposition will reject it.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that there are many points in the Sindh Journalist Protection Bill which are not in the said bill of the National Assembly. Like the Aziz Memon case, cases of assault on journalists across the country should be heard in court. He said that a sub-committee of the Standing Committee on Human Rights should be formed on the Journalist Protection Bill. He also invited a PTI member to head the sub committee so that the bill could be reviewed soon.

Leading anchor and journalist Asma Shirazi told the committee that there was no precedent for the ban on freedom of expression which is being used in this hybrid government. Journalists are being pressured by employers to ban freedom of expression. Asma Shirazi told the committee that a journalist protection bill was being brought on one side and a media authority was being set up on the other. “We are not affiliated with any political party,” she said. We belong to the constitution of Pakistan while the supremacy of parliament is our ideology.

“Three major newspapers did not accept me as a columnist,” journalist Absar Alam told the committee. No news channel is willing to take me on its panel as an analyst, he said. Thus, I have been banned unannounced. When I raised some questions in a tweet, I was charged with treason and cybercrime. “Footage of the shooter has surfaced, but to no avail,” he said. On this occasion, the chairman of the committee Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asked SSP Investigation Islamabad what progress has been made so far in the Absar Alam case. SSP Investigation told the committee that we have sent the footage of the attackers on Absar Alam to NADRA but they did not respond.

On this occasion, a bitter exchange took place between PTI member Attaullah and Special Secretary Home Affairs regarding the slow progress in the Absar Alam case. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that bureaucracy is accountable to the parliament. The bureaucracy must satisfy the members of the Standing Committee on Human Rights. Meanwhile, PTI member Lal Malhi said that a meeting of journalists was held in Rawalpindi but he would not say with whom this meeting took place. I know that the Standing Committee on Human Rights Forum is being used to discredit the government, he said.

Leading columnist and anchor Hamid Mir told the standing committee that the army chief had called for Iftar and an off-the-record meeting during Ramadan. A false statement was also associated with the Army Chief that Javed Mengal attacked me when there was no such thing. “Requests are being made in various cities to register treason cases against me and Asma Shirazi,” Hamid Mir said. Hamid Mir said that no organization including PEMRA has not imposed any ban against me but still I am banned in the media. A case of propaganda against the army has been registered against me on the complaint of a person belonging to Lal Masjid.

“Those who attacked me kept talking on the phone during the violence,” Asad Toor said. The faces of the attackers are clear in the footage and so are their fingerprints. In a statement to the committee, journalist Asad Toor detailed the attacks and violence against him. Asad Toor’s lawyer Imaan Mazari said that the geo-fencing report has not been submitted yet. When I took up Asad’s case, I was threatened that if he did not withdraw, I would be harmed. I am the daughter of a federal minister but after taking the case of Asad Toor, I was chased, my car got into an accident one night.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asked Iman Mazari to share the details. I assure you that this issue will not be viewed in a political manner, he said. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that we will look into the case of Asad. Even if an institution is wrongly accused, we will condemn the accusation. During the meeting, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asked the Special Secretary Home and DIG Investigation if there was any pressure on him regarding the investigation. Both officers said they were not under pressure to investigate the attacks on journalists.

Journalist and anchor Munizae Jahangir said that journalists and lawyers should be taken on board before the passing of the Journalist Protection Bill. Chairman Bilawal asked the home secretary to state how many attacks on journalists have taken place in Islamabad. The Home Secretary and SP Investigation said that more than 90 cases against journalists were under investigation in Islamabad. On this occasion, journalist Matiullah Jan asked the police what progress has been made so far in his kidnapping case. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asked the DIG to reply to Matiullah Jan to which he said that no progress could be made in the case of Matiullah.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the attack on journalists in the federal capital is bringing us into disrepute all over the world. He said that the performance of the police authorities is disappointing. Journalist Hamid Mir said the Islamabad Safe City project was controlled by the capital’s police. In answer to Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s question, the DIG Investigation said that he did not know and that he would inform after asking the people associated with the Safe City project.

On this occasion, Senator Farhatullah Babar said that despite the request for footage of Safe City project in Matiullah Jan case, the footage has not been received yet. Talking to a group of journalists after the meeting, in response to a question, Chairman PPP said that he has decided to write a letter to the DG ISI regarding the concerns of journalists and the incidents of attack on them.

Imposing a 17% sales tax on dairy products when Pakistan’s poverty rate is 40% is equivalent to killing our children: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Islamabad, June 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called out Prime Minister Imran Khan for attempting to hide the facts of the “poor enemy budget” by silencing the voice of the opposition. He asserted that no matter what tactics the PTI government stooped to, PPP will reveal the truth regarding the Budget 2021-2022 to the people.

In a statement issued from the Media Cell Bilawal House, the Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari declared that using abusive language and hurling insults will not save Imran Khan from the public’s wrath. “Imran Khan set the minimum wage at Rs 20,000 and then imposed a tax of Rs 700 billion. What does this say about the country’s development?” questioned Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Revealing the true face of Imran Khan’s “Tabdeeli,” Chairman PPP stated, “In one year, there has been a 17% reduction in the income of the common man and a 25% rise in the prices of food utilities. It’s absolutely disgraceful that in a country where one in three children suffer from malnutrition, the incompetent PM has imposed a 17% sales tax on milk and allied products,” he said.

Chairman PPP further stated that imposing a 17% sales tax on dairy products when Pakistan’s poverty rate is 40% is equivalent to killing our children. “This is the price the people of Pakistan have to pay for Imran Khan’s ‘change,’” he pronounced. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also condemned the increase in flour, oil, and electricity prices and said that the puppet Prime Minister has brought a tsunami of inflation on the nation.
