Karachi, February 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):IoBM and Shell Tameer signed an Agreement on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Under the agreement, Shell Tameer will provide mentorship to start-ups incubated at IoBM’s Shahjehan S. Karim Incubation Center (SSK-IC), facilitate consultancy and training workshops for start-ups, and promote grant challenges and other activities across their social and digital platforms. IoBM will partner with Shell Tameer to conduct on-campus events and share incubating and funding opportunities for Shell Tameer alumni and startups. The signatories were Mr. Talib S. Karim, President IoBM, and Mr. Habib Haider, Head of Corporate Relations, Shell Pakistan.

During the event, Mr. Habib shared an overview of Shell Tameer and its contribution over the years to the local economy by the number of businesses it’s supported and youth trained in enterprise development. While addressing the occasion, Mr. Talib Karim shared information about the various initiatives at IoBM including the Shahjehan S. Karim Incubation Center and its vision to empower students to become job creators. Dr. Imran Batada, CTO and Head of CIT, IoBM informed about IoBM’s collaboration in Kamyab Jawan Projects and with the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource Research and Development Board (BBSHRRDB).

Representing Shell were Ms. Afshan Pasha, Social Performance Lead; Mr. Imran Azeem, Manager, Training and Development; and Mr. Saifullah Malik, Programme Coordinator and Communications Manager. Representing IoBM were Dr. Shujaat Mubarik, Dean CBM; Dr. Imran Batada; Mr. Nabhan S. Karim, HoD Marketing and Communications, and Dr. Munir Hussain, HoD Entrepreneurship.

Karachi, February 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):IoBM secured the second prize at the 70th Pakistan Annual Flower Show organized by the Horticultural Society of Pakistan. It was held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the A.K Khan Park Seaview, Clifton, Karachi. IoBM earned this prize in the Educational Institute Gardens category. The prize was received on behalf of IoBM by Mr. Adnan Faisal, Manager Maintenance.

Karachi, February 23, 2022 (PPI-OT): IoBM Futsal “A” Team defeated Habib University (6-2) to win the AKJ Inter-University Futsal Tournament 2022. The final match was played on February 20, 2022 at the NED University Futsal Court. The Tournament was organized by AKJ Pakistan Sports Events Management in collaboration with NED University. Earlier in the tournament, IoBM defeated Roots Millennium University (4-0) and NED University ‘A’ Team (2-1). IoBM won the semi-final against NED University ‘B’ Team (5-0).

Karachi, February 13, 2022 (PPI-OT):A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between IoBM and the Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence and Computing (PIAIC) on Saturday. As an academic partner, IoBM will provide logistics support including its auditorium to PIAIC that will offer courses related to AI and computing.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Talib S. Karim, President IoBM, and on behalf of PIAIC, the signatory was Maulana Bashir Farooqui, Chairman, Saylani Welfare International Trust (SWIT). Present on this occasion were Mr. Zia Khan, COO PIAIC and Mr. Muhammad Ghazzal, COO SWIT. IoBM’s Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director; Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Acting Rector; and Dr. Shujaat Mubarik, Dean CBM also graced this occasion with their presence.

Karachi, February 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):The most recent update in the digital banking sector shows that Pakistan is growing digitally at a fast pace. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued the licencing and regulatory framework for setting up digital banks. Over time, there has been the growth of digital insurance, digital economy, paperless payments, cryptocurrency, and other digital forms.

This licencing and regulatory framework will play a major role in the growth of the digital economy and help set up digital banks as separate entities in Pakistan. Financial inclusion has always been a major issue in the country, and this framework is likely to lead to affordable digital financial services.
