Karachi, July 27, 2021 (PPI-OT):“Your learning begins when you start teaching,” these were the words by Mr. Tariq Khan, Founder and CEO, Global Diversity Marketing, New York, USA, who recently delivered a talk at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM). He was speaking in the presence of IoBM’s President, Mr. Talib Karim; Rector, Deans, HoDs, and faculty members.

Mr. Tariq Khan, also an Adjunct Professor of Marketing and Leadership at Ney York University, USA, shared his journey from Karachi to the US, the vision of his company, and his book’s content. During his talk on “Leadership in changing times”, Mr. Khan explained how the pandemic shifted activities on the digital sphere resulting in the birth of remote leadership. He explained how successful companies during the 1980s and the 1990s became defunct for not pursuing continuous innovation to be replaced by those that evolved through time by cultivating creativity and innovation. He added that customer-centric leadership is the main reason behind the success of an organization.

Mr. Tariq Khan’s book includes topics such as leadership myths, leadership traits, future of education, entrepreneurship, diversity, equity, and inclusion; the difference between classic leadership and adaptive leadership, among others. The primary goal of his book includes offering practical strategies for promoting individuals and teams, suggesting effective strategies for leading a diverse workforce, and encouraging leaders to become adept at harnessing the benefits that new technologies offer instead of fearing their disruptive qualities. Mr. Tariq Khan’s talk was followed by an interactive question and answer session.
