Islamabad, October 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 2 in 5 people say that there has been an outbreak of some disease in their area.

A representative sample of adult men and women from the flood borne areas was asked the following question: “God forbid, has there been an outbreak of any disease in your area?” 60% responded ‘No’ while 40% said ‘Yes’.

Islamabad, October 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, malaria and diarrhea are the most common affliction out of diseases that have broken out in flood borne areas.

A representative sample of adult men and women from the flood borne areas was asked the following question: “God forbid, has there been an outbreak of any disease in your area? If yes, which disease?” 35% responded Malaria, 22% said Diarrhea, 16% mentioned Skin disease while 12% said Dengue and 10% responded fever. 2% of the people said that there was outbreak of animal disease while 1% responded asthma and diabetes.

A representative sample of adult men and women from the flood borne areas was asked the following question: “Are you at your home or at a camp these days?” 69% responded that they were at home while 31% responded that they had relocated to a camp.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “Have you or anyone around you faced a shortage of food?” 52% said ‘Yes’ and 48% said ‘No’ Of those who responded ‘Yes,’ 87% belonged to Balochistan, 61% were from Sindh, 60% were from KPK and 42% belonged to Punjab.

A representative sample of adult men and women from the flood borne areas was asked the following question: “Are schools closed in your area due to the floods?” 56% said that the schools are still closed whereas 44% responded that the schools were closed but now they have opened again.
