Islamabad, October 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, an overwhelming majority of Pakistanis (82%) agree that Pakistan should receive international aid for flood relief: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “Should Pakistan receive donations from the international community to help flood victims?” 82% said ‘Yes’ while only 18% responded ‘No.’

Islamabad, October 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, nearly 6 in 10 Pakistanis claim to have made donations to the flood victims.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “Have you made any donation to help the flood victims?” 57% said ‘Yes’ while 43% said ‘No’.

Islamabad, October 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 1 in 2 Pakistanis believe that both government and NGOs are not putting in efforts towards flood relief activities.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “In your area, who is putting in more effort towards the flood relief activities, the government or NGO?” 53% responded ‘None,’ 36% said ‘NGO,’ 7% said ‘Government’ and 4% said ‘Both.’

Islamabad, October 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, Shelter (32%), food (22%), and financial aid (18%) should be the top three priority areas for government to help the flood victims.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “What do you think is the first thing that the government should do to help the flood victims?” In response, 32% responded provide shelter/home, 22 said that the government should provide the flood victims with food supply, 18% said that financial support should be priority, 7% said drainage of water needs to be the priority, 3% responded the provision of camps, 2% said construction of dam, save the people and nothing respectively, while 1% each responded reconstruction of river banks, medical facilities, anything, provide clothes.

7 in 10 Pakistanis opine that deforestation has increased the level of damage caused by recent flooding: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan 

Islamabad, October 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 70% of people surveyed thought that deforestation has increased the level of damage caused by recent flooding.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “Some people think that the floods would have been less damaging if the forests hadn’t been cut down. Do you agree with this?” 70% of the people said, ‘Yes’ while 30% said ‘No.’ Of those who said ‘Yes,’ 55% belonged to low-income households, 76% were from medium income households and 75% belonged to high income households.

Islamabad, October 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 1 in 5 Pakistanis claim their house has been previously flooded.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question,” Has your house ever been flooded before?” 20% of the people responded, ‘Yes’ while 80% said ‘No.’ Amongst the people whose house had been flooded before, 26% were from KPK, 26% were from Sindh, 20% belonged to Balochistan and 15% were from Punjab.
