Lahore, July 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):The session of Punjab Assembly began under the chairmanship of Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi. After the recitation of Holy Quran and Naat Sharif, Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi administered oath to the newly elected members of PTI Assembly on five reserved seats.
Batool Zain, Saira Raza and Fouzia Abbas Naseem were sworn in for the reserved seats for women, while Habkook Rafiq Babbu and Samuel Yaqoob were sworn in for the minority seats. Expressing their views, the MPAs thanked PTI Chairman Imran Khan for trusting them and assured their full cooperation.
Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed, Muhammad Basharat Raja, Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan, Wasim Khan Badozai, Khayal Kastro, Mahindra Pal Singh, Yasmeen Rashid, Khadija Umar, Sadia Sohail Rana, Mussarat Cheema and other members of the Assembly congratulated the newly elected members of the Assembly and expressed their commitment. They said that they would make successful Ch Pervez Elahi who is the unanimous candidate of PML and PTI, in the July 22 Punjab Chief Ministerial election with majority.
In the session, Deputy Opposition Leader Muhammad Basharat Raja strongly condemned the arrest of Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh and journalist Imran Riaz and said that Punjab Police has become a stubborn horse, all affairs of Punjab province are being run through police.
Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi said that all the work is being done unconstitutionally in the government of Sharifs, Sharif family is still doing politics of 80s.
During the session, Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi offered fateha for the deceased Ex-MPA Javed Mumtaz Daultana. Later, Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi adjourned the session of the Assembly till Monday, July 18, 2022 at 3:00 PM.
