Lahore, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the appointment of Sohail Tanvir, a member of the 2009 T20 World Cup-winning squad and former Pakistan cricketer, as the head of the junior selection committee. Tanvir, who made his international debut in 2007, has significant experience in cricket, with numerous appearances and achievements in various formats of the game.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Sohail Tanvir’s first task as chairperson of the junior selection committee will be to select the Pakistan U19 squad for the upcoming 2023 ACC U19 Asia Cup in UAE, followed by participation in the ICC U19 World Cup in Sri Lanka. Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity provided by Chairman PCB Management Committee Mr. Zaka Ashraf, Tanvir emphasized his commitment to nurturing young talent and building a successful pathway from grassroots to international cricket. The selection of the U19 squad for the ACC U19 Asia Cup is the immediate focus, setting the stage for a competitive team in the ICC U19 World Cup next year.
