Siraj-ul-Haq Advocates for Constitutional Supremacy to Alleviate Political Strain in Pakistan

Lahore, Siraj-ul-Haq, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, has emphasized the need for constitutional supremacy, law, and democracy to resolve Pakistan’s current political tension and uncertainty. He asserted that adherence to Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution could eradicate corruption from politics and restore integrity.

According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, Siraj-ul-Haq, in a statement from Mansurah, criticized the ongoing political culture, stating that power in the country has been revolving around families rather than a democratic republic. He lamented the lack of ideological integrity in political parties and the absence of proper training mechanisms for politicians. He highlighted that the former ruling parties have perpetuated a culture of offensive language in politics and that those in power have historically focused on accumulating wealth at the expense of the public.

Siraj-ul-Haq pointed to various corruption scandals such as the Panama Leaks, Pandora Papers, and Tosha Khana cases as evidence of the ruling class’s misuse of public resources. He stressed that this corruption has led to widespread inflation, unemployment, and poverty, while the ruling elite remain disconnected from the people’s issues.

The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami emphasized the importance of the public scrutinizing the performance and capabilities of political parties before casting their votes. He presented Jamaat-e-Islami as a viable option for voters, promising a revolutionary manifesto focusing on national development, the eradication of VIP culture and corruption, and an equitable distribution of resources.

Siraj-ul-Haq further highlighted Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to democratic principles, including regular internal elections and effective worker training systems. He underscored the party’s focus on bringing educated, ordinary people into the assemblies and ensuring representation of workers and farmers to address their specific issues.

As the nation prepares for the upcoming elections, Siraj-ul-Haq encouraged the public to support Jamaat-e-Islami, symbolized by the scales, as a means to establish an Islamic Welfare Pakistan. He concluded by asserting that those opposed to the rule of law are enemies of both the country and its people.
