Islamabad, Senator Palusha Khan, a central leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), raised critical questions about Nawaz Sharif’s political tenure during a press conference in Islamabad. She questioned the contributions made by Sharif, who was a three-time Prime Minister and ruled Punjab for thirty years, to the welfare of the people.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, Senator Khan, alongside the party’s chief coordinator Nazir Dhokhi, highlighted that despite multiple opportunities, Nawaz Sharif’s leadership failed to bring significant development or reforms. She argued that the PML-N, Nawaz Sharif’s party, lacks a clear manifesto, action plan, or direction for the future.
Senator Khan criticized Maryam Nawaz’s rally in Okara, pointing out the absence of a concrete party manifesto and a tendency towards anger and taunts instead of constructive political discourse. She accused the PML-N of being disconnected from the people’s problems, citing an incident where they inquired from the public about their issues, indicating a lack of awareness.
The Senator also discussed the failures of Nawaz Sharif’s government in managing key national institutions, including the decline of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and the steel mills. She expressed concerns over the potential privatization of PIA, labeling it as a takeover in disguise, and questioned the appointment of figures like Ghulam Sarwar, who has been criticized for his handling of the airline.
Highlighting Nawaz Sharif’s past policies, Senator Khan warned that his return to power might lead to the firing of government employees, as seen during his previous tenures. She emphasized that the PML-N’s period in the finance ministry, until March 16, involved secretive agreements that worsened the economic situation initiated by Imran Khan’s administration.
Senator Palusha Khan’s statements underline the PPP’s critique of the PML-N’s governance and leadership, questioning their ability to address Pakistan’s pressing issues.
