RDC Sindh organizes session on Seerah of Holy Prophet (PBUH) 

Islamabad, February 13, 2022 (PPI-OT):A special session on Seerah-e-Taiyba was organized by Regional Dawah Center (Sindh) Karachi, Dawah Academy, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI). Speaker of the session was Prof. Dr. Moinuddin Hashmi, Chairman, Department of Sirah Studies, Allama Iqbal Open University.

Speaking on the topic he said that the work on Seerah in the written form was started in the life of Holy Prophet (PBUH) by his companions. They used to narrate Hadith. The early books of Islamic sciences contain the material of Sirah. He said that modern topics of Sirah-e-Taiba can be explored from the basic sources of Sirah in the present times.

He said the topics of Hadith and Sirah that exist, if applied, will be an important task in the world of research. He said that social problems can be solved by conducting research in the light of Sirah-e-Taiba and there is a need to work on Sirah-e-Taiyba from historical perspective. He opined that such topics should be the subject of research. He added that comparative study of early books is also necessary in today’s modern age. He told that it was necessary to work on the nature of the relationship of the Prophet PBUH with the his Companions.

Earlier, Dr Syed Aziz-Ur-Rehman, In-charge Regional Dawah Center (Sindh) Karachi, said that the work of Allama Iqbal Open University on Sirah-e-Taiyba was important. He thanked worthy speaker and said that the speaker has done his PhD on Sirah-e-Taiyba and his services are outstanding for highlighting different aspects of Sirah-e-Taiyba. He said it is the tradition of the Regional Dawah Center that scholars and intellectuals are invited on various topics and today’s session is also an omen of this tradition. The special session was attended by religious seminaries, teachers and scholars from different walks of life.
