LAHORE: Punjab University Department of Gender Studies organized a lecture and debate competition to mark the death anniversary of Allama Iqbal. The event, which highlighted Iqbal's concept of Khudi and its contemporary relevance, saw participation from faculty and students, including Chairperson Dr. Rubeena Zakar and former Director of the Iqbal Academy, Dr. Baseera Ambreen.
According to University of the Punjab, the debate competition encouraged students to explore and articulate their understanding of Iqbal's philosophy. Dr. Rubeena Zakar delivered the welcome address, recognizing the literary society's work in promoting critical thinking among students. She underscored the importance of Iqbal's message for the youth, encouraging them to discover their true potential and understand the concept of Khudi.
Dr. Baseera Ambreen spoke on mastering debating skills, urging students to develop clarity in thought and expression.
