Punjab Arts Council Leads Rally to Support Kashmir

Rawalpindi: A rally was organized by the Punjab Arts Council on Murree Road to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day, drawing significant participation from various sectors. The demonstration was led by Member of Punjab Assembly, Ms. Riffat Abbasi, alongside prominent figures from the Arts Council, including Director Sajjad Hussain and former Director Waqar Ahmed.

According to a statement by Punjab Arts Council, the rally saw participants carrying banners and placards with slogans advocating for the freedom of occupied Kashmir. Chants such as “Kashmir will become Pakistan” and “We will take our freedom” resonated throughout the event, highlighting the protest against Indian actions in the region.

During her address, Ms. Riffat Abbasi emphasized that Kashmir Solidarity Day serves as a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people’s quest for self-determination, in line with United Nations resolutions. She called on the international community to take notice of the situation in occupied Kashmir and to assist in securing the legitimate rights of its people.

Sajjad Hussain, the Director of Punjab Arts Council, stated that the council observes Kashmir Solidarity Day annually with enthusiasm to convey Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmir. The rally concluded with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir and for the liberation of the region, and it included participation from civil society, students, and notable personalities.
