Nazimabad Gymkhana Blues Triumphs Over Metropolitan Cricket Club to Reach Quarterfinals

Karachi: Nazimabad Gymkhana Blues secured their spot in the quarterfinals of the Master Oil Inter Club Cricket Tournament with an eight-wicket victory over Metropolitan Cricket Club, thanks to solid performances from Qadir Khan, Ghani Subhan, and medium pacer Najeeb ur Rehman at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.

According to a statement by Regional Cricket Association Karachi, the tournament is organized in collaboration with Master Oil Lubricant. The match saw Nazimabad Gymkhana Blues chase down the target set by Metropolitan Cricket Club with ease.

Metropolitan Cricket Club was bowled out for 156 runs in 34.2 overs. The standout performance for Metropolitan was by Abdur Rehman, who scored 67 runs, including six boundaries and a six. Saifullah contributed 19 runs. Najeeb ur Rehman was instrumental in dismantling the batting lineup, taking three wickets for 26 runs, while Zafar Ali and Naeem Gul took two wickets each.

In response, Nazimabad Gymkhana Blues reached the target in 22.2 overs, scoring 157 for the loss of two wickets. Qadir Khan remained unbeaten with a score of 70, hitting seven boundaries and four sixes. Ghani Subhan supported him with 64 runs, including eleven boundaries and a six.

The victory propels Nazimabad Gymkhana Blues into the quarterfinals, maintaining their campaign in the tournament.
