Lahore, Musrat Jamshed Cheema, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has sharply criticized the Punjab government’s performance in its first 100 days, accusing it of focusing solely on advertisements and lacking substantive achievements.
According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Cheema highlighted several issues, including the government’s failure to purchase wheat from farmers due to a lack of funds, despite a reported increase in the discretionary funds of the Chief Minister from 2 billion to 5 billion rupees. He also condemned the passage of a defamation bill, which he claimed was signed “in the dark of night,” suggesting a lack of transparency and public scrutiny in the government’s legislative processes.
Cheema’s statement further criticized the Punjab government for what he described as superficial project inaugurations without proper planning, causing disarray among government officials. He expressed concern over unfulfilled promises such as the provision of 300 units of free electricity, contrasting them with rising electricity prices and challenges faced by citizens seeking to install solar systems.
The PTI leader’s remarks reflect growing discontent with the current administration’s approach to governance, emphasizing the need for more transparency and effectiveness in addressing public issues.
