Islamabad, In a significant move, the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) issued a show cause notice to Senator Baharamand Tangi. The notice, delivered by Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, Secretary General of the PPPP, demands Tangi’s explanation for his actions in the Senate which are perceived as contradictory to the party’s policies.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, the text of the show cause notice outlines the reasons behind this disciplinary action. The notice states that Senator Tangi, elected on the PPPP ticket, supported and spoke in favor of a resolution moved by Senator Dilawar Khan in the Senate session on January 5, 2024. This resolution, which Tangi endorsed, is in direct opposition to the PPPP leadership’s firm stance that elections should be held on the date set by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The notice emphasizes that Senator Tangi’s actions are a violation of the party leadership’s directives and policies. As a result, he is required to provide an explanation and response within one week. Failure to comply will lead to further disciplinary actions as per the party’s rules.
This development signifies the PPPP’s commitment to maintaining party discipline and adherence to its policies, especially regarding critical national matters like election scheduling.
