Jamaat-e-Islami Fields 533 Candidates for Provincial Assemblies in Pakistan

Lahore, Dr. Farid Paracha, Naib Emir and Secretary of the Election Cell for Jamaat-e-Islami, announced the participation of 533 party candidates in the general seats of the four provincial assemblies in Pakistan. This declaration came during a meeting held in the central election cell in Mansurah, which also saw the involvement of Deputy Amir and Chairman of the Election Cell Liaqat Baloch, and Deputy Amir Rashid Naseem.

According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, Dr. Paracha also mentioned that 231 candidates are contesting in the 266 seats of the National Assembly, representing Jamaat-e-Islami. However, the nomination papers of 16 candidates were rejected on technical grounds, leading to appeals being filed in the Election Tribunal.

Dr. Paracha highlighted the active campaigning efforts of their candidates across the provinces, with provincial and district leaders providing daily reports on the election campaign’s progress. He also noted a significant increase in political and social figures joining Jamaat-e-Islami across the country, reflecting a growing support base for the party.

The involvement of a substantial number of candidates in both the national and provincial assemblies underlines Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to a broad-based political presence in Pakistan. The party aims to make a significant impact in the upcoming elections, as reflected in its vigorous campaign efforts and the expanding membership.
