Larkana, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced a comprehensive economic framework, the “People’s Economic Agreement,” ahead of the general elections scheduled for February 8. This pivotal document focuses on addressing the country’s pressing economic challenges and aims to chart a path towards progress, prosperity, and national exaltation.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, the announcement was made during an unveiling ceremony at the Begum Nusrat Bhutto Auditorium in Larkana on Tuesday. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called upon his party’s office-bearers, workers, and the media to raise awareness about this “revolutionary document,” which he believes is crucial for overcoming national challenges and steering the country towards growth.

The “People’s Economic Agreement” outlines detailed strategies to tackle the country’s economic crisis, marked by historic inflation, high unemployment, underemployment, and soaring poverty levels. The Agreement highlights the plight of ordinary working people, who face diminishing returns on their labor due to rising costs of living and wage value erosion.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the need for comprehensive reforms focusing on climate resilience, adaptation, energy transition, and inclusive growth. The Agreement proposes ten pledges, including doubling real incomes for wage earners, climate resilience initiatives, indigenous and green energy development, universal education and healthcare, housing rights, poverty alleviation through BISP expansion, agricultural development, worker empowerment, youth programs, and combating food insecurity.

The PPP chairman stressed that these measures aim to empower ordinary people, women, men, and youth, and protect the most vulnerable, with a significant focus on climate change and its impact on Pakistan. The Agreement promises to reshape Pakistan’s development priorities, emphasizing public and private sector investments in climate-resilient infrastructure and green energy solutions.

The People’s Economic Agreement represents the PPP’s commitment to addressing the multifaceted economic and environmental challenges facing Pakistan, highlighting a future of sustainable development and equitable growth.
