Karachi, The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has officially embraced the Supreme Court’s decision to hold general elections on February 8. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is set to launch the party’s election campaign on December 27, coinciding with the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, senior PPP leaders, including Senator Sherry Rehman, Shazia Atta Marri, Sharjeel Inam Memon, and others, convened a hybrid meeting in Karachi. The meeting, led by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, focused on the current political landscape of Pakistan and the party’s upcoming electoral strategies.
Senator Sherry Rehman highlighted the PPP’s efforts in ensuring the timely conduct of elections. Emphasizing the party’s commitment to democracy, she disclosed Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s plans to tour all four provinces as part of his election campaign. The aim is to mobilize the electorate and reinforce the PPP’s presence across the country.
PPP-P Information Secretary Shazia Atta Marri stressed the party’s unique position in actively preparing for the elections immediately after the announcement of the election schedule. She urged the public to vote for the PPP, touting it as the only party capable of steering the country out of its current crises and extending Sindh’s developmental projects nationwide.
Sharjeel Inam Memon praised Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s unwavering insistence on holding elections on time. He criticized other political parties for either seeking to delay the elections or showing reluctance to participate, contrasting this with the PPP’s inclusive approach and rejection of divisive politics.
The meeting, which was attended by prominent PPP figures such as Faryal Talpur, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, and Murad Ali Shah, focused on finalizing the election manifesto, campaign strategy, and enhancing public engagement in the lead-up to the elections.
