Islamia University Bahawalpur Expands Academic Horizons with New PhD and MPhil Programs

Karachi, Higher Education Commission (HEC) has granted the Islamia University of Bahawalpur authorization to launch four new PhD programs and three MPhil programs, marking a significant expansion in the university’s academic offerings.

According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan, Director of Advanced Studies and Research Board Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha announced the introduction of these advanced programs. The PhD programs include Geography, Education Leadership and Management, Artificial Intelligence, and Animal Breeding and Genetics. Additionally, the university has been permitted to start MSc Honors Agriculture Horticulture in Bahawalpur and MPhil programs in Botany and Computer Science at the Bahawalnagar campus.

Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, expressed gratitude to the HEC for their approval and acknowledged the efforts of Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha. He also congratulated the Deans and Heads of Teaching Departments for their roles in achieving this milestone. Among those recognized were Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed Buzdar, Prof. Dr. Irshad Hussain, Prof. Dr. Dost Muhammad Khan, and others.

This development signifies a major step for the Islamia University in enhancing its academic stature and providing students with diverse and specialized fields of study, aligning with modern educational trends and market demands.
