Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) held an intensive one-day workshop for regional coaches at Karachi’s Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre on Monday. The session aimed to enhance coaching skills and prepare for the upcoming domestic cricket season.
Coaches representing Dera Murad Jamali, FATA, Karachi, Larkana, Multan, and Rawalpindi regions participated in the Monday program. A second group of regional coaches will attend a similar workshop on Saturday, September 20th, at the Inzamam-ul-Haq High-Performance Centre located in Multan.
The program was spearheaded by Shahid Aslam, Head of Coach Education and Development at the National Cricket Academy. He was supported by Asad Shafiq, member of the Men’s and Women’s Selection Committee and head of the Hanif Mohammad HPC, and Azam Khan, head coach of the HPC.
The comprehensive training was divided into three segments. These included lectures addressing coaching obstacles, established coaching principles, and performance under stress. The program also covered the application of technology and data analysis in coaching, a specialized skills practice, and a concluding feedback session.
The PCB strategically arranged these workshops during breaks in the ongoing Hanif Mohammad Trophy. This scheduling allows the board to monitor coaching advancements as the 2025-26 domestic cricket season commences.
