Karachi, The Pasban Democratic Party has strongly criticized the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PICA), claiming it infringes upon fundamental human rights and diverges from the principles of Pakistan’s 1973 Constitution.
According to Pasban Democratic Party, the party’s leader Altaf Shakoor has voiced a comprehensive rejection of the PICA law, labeling it a tool designed to shield corrupt individuals rather than hold them accountable. Shakoor emphasized that all political entities and institutions funded by taxpayers owe transparency and accountability to the public, asserting that no law should strip the people of their rights to consciousness and voice. He called for a unified stand against what he termed a “dark step by the government,” urging all sectors of society to voice their opposition.
