Karachi, Pasban Democratic Party Chairman Altaf Shakoor has highlighted ongoing massive scams in housing cooperative societies that primarily affect poor allottees, under the alleged protection of corrupt government officials.
According to Pasban Democratic Party, Shakoor spoke in the context of a recent ruling by the Sindh High Court, which unveiled plans for illegal plot occupations in cooperative societies valued at billions of rupees. The court’s decision led to the suspension of the registrar of cooperative societies and highlighted systemic issues within the management of these entities.
Shakoor criticized the ongoing corruption, noting that registrars often secure their positions through substantial bribes to politicians, leading to further exploitation of allottees. He called for the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate these fraudulent activities thoroughly and ensure justice for the affected allottees.
