Lahore, Pakistan U19 cricket team, under the leadership of Saad Baig, is set to face Sri Lanka U19 in a five-match one-day series in Karachi. This follows their resounding nine-wicket victory over the Sri Lankan U19 side in a solitary four-day match held at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
According to a news release by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), The 18-member squad for the one-day matches has been finalized by the junior selection committee, led by Inzamam-ul-Haq. The matches are slated to unfold from 22 to 31 October at the National Bank Stadium. Saad Baig, who previously led the U19 team during their tour to Bangladesh earlier this year, will captain the squad. He will be accompanied by six players who were in the playing XI in the recent four-day fixture against Sri Lanka U19. These players include Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Ibtisam, Mohammad Ismail, and Shahzaib Khan. It’s noteworthy that Arafat Minhas and Shamyl Hussain were also part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad that played in the Top End Series in Darwin, Australia.
The Pakistan U19 squad will gather at their designated hotel tonight and undergo training sessions at the National Bank Stadium over the ensuing two days.
The full Pakistan U19 squad comprises Saad Baig (captain and wicket-keeper), Aftab Ahmed, Ahmed Hussain, Ali Raza, Arafat Minhas, Hamza Nawaz, Haroon Arshad, Mohammad Ammar, Mohammad Huzaifa, Mohammad Ibtisam, Mohammad Ismail, Mohammad Riaz Ullah, Mohammad Tayyab Arif, Najab Khan, Naveed Ahmed Khan, Shahzaib Khan, Shamyl Hussain, and Ubaid Shah.
