Gahkuch: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, addressed a substantial election rally in Gahkuch, Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday. He outlined the party's plans for the region, promising to transform Gilgit-Baltistan into Pakistan's fifth province, secure constitutional rights for its people, and ensure land ownership for local residents.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Bhutto Zardari highlighted the historical contributions of the PPP to Gilgit-Baltistan, citing the wheat subsidy introduced by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the establishment of GB's distinct identity under President Asif Ali Zardari. He emphasized the party's commitment to governance reforms, including the introduction of Artificial Intelligence in employment processes, and pledged to implement housing initiatives modeled after the Sindh Peoples Housing Initiative.
Addressing historical grievances, Bhutto Zardari asserted that previous elections witnessed seats being unjustly taken from the PPP. He expressed confidence in a PPP victory in the upcoming elections and underscored the need for a majority in the Gilgit-Baltistan assembly to implement promised reforms. He called on the people to vote for the PPP on June 7, emphasizing the party's ideology and manifesto as distinct from its rivals.
