Rawalpindi, Under the auspices of the Pakistan Sunni Tehreek, Shab Barat was celebrated across Pakistan as Shab Toba, with numerous gatherings for prayer, remembrance, and night vigils organized. The event emphasized special prayers for the upliftment of Islam, national security, and stability, highlighting a communal spirit of devotion and public service.
According to Pakistan Sunni Tehreek, the celebrations saw the establishment of drink stands outside shrines and cemeteries by the Ahlus Sunnat Khamita Foundation to cater to visitors. Prominent leaders of the Pakistan Sunni Tehreek, including divisional leader of Rawalpindi Allama Attaur Rahman Dhaniyal and others, inaugurated various reception camps, echoing the sentiment that serving people and providing facilities is akin to worship. The leaders advocated for the government to adopt public service as its motto along with policies favoring Made in Pakistan products.
The speeches delivered during the celebrations criticized reliance on IMF loans, suggesting such financial strategies could jeopardize Pakistan’s future.
