Karachi, The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) is calling for nominations of female leaders in the sports sector to participate in the Women’s Sport Leadership Academy (WSLA) at the University of Chichester in the United Kingdom. The week-long residential program, supported by the IOC Olympic Solidarity, is designed to foster the next generation of female leaders in sports.
According to Pakistan Olympic Association, the WSLA program, scheduled for September 8-13, 2024, at the University of Chichester’s Bishop Otter Campus, will offer workshops, personal development planning, and peer support sessions. It aims to cultivate the skills necessary for women to ascend to senior management positions in sports organizations.
The Olympic Values Training program will provide a limited number of scholarships to cover tuition fees, and in some cases, additional grants for travel expenses, prioritizing National Olympic Committees (NOCs) with the greatest need.
The POA is looking for candidates who hold or are expected to hold significant management roles within their organizations and who are dedicated to their professional growth and to promoting opportunities for women and girls in sport. Proficiency in English is a requirement for participation.
Interested parties have been requested to submit the required documentation, including an updated CV and relevant educational certifications, by February 19, 2024.
This initiative represents the POA’s ongoing efforts to enhance gender equality in the sports leadership landscape and to empower women to lead and effect change in sports and related fields.
